Members of the WSD Community,
The Wausau School District is committed
to the safety and security of its students and staff. Currently
a public health emergency has been declared by the Department
of Homeland Security in response to recent H1N1 (Swine Flu)
Influenza outbreaks in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
State and local officials, led by the
Wisconsin Department of Health Services, are monitoring this
situation closely. Wausau School District officials are working
directly with the Marathon County Health Department to monitor
ongoing local conditions. As of this time, no confirmed cases
of H1N1 influenza have occurred in Wisconsin.
We want to assure you that it is safe
for your children to attend school in the Wausau School District
and pledge that we will do everything we can to keep you informed
if local conditions change.
Please take the time to follow the links
on this page and read the parent and staff communication available
there. Check back often to view regular updates. If you need
more information concerning H1N1 please visit the Web sites
